Important Note: The Sharing feature is currently available on an opt-in basis. If you're interested in this feature, please contact your Harvey Admin.
Overview
Assistant Threads can be shared seamlessly with other professionals in your workspace. Sharing is limited to members of the same workspace, meaning only users within your organization can access shared items.
By default, all threads are private. Users must explicitly grant access to a thread before it is available to other users.
Granting Access
Important Note: Sharing options may vary based on workspace settings. If the ‘Share’ button isn’t visible, or if you’re unable to enable sharing with “anyone with the link,” please contact your Harvey Workspace Admin for assistance.
After you run your initial Assistant query, you will see an option to Share your results in the top right corner. Threads can be shared with users that have access to Assistant in two different ways:
Sharing with individual users.
Sharing with anyone in the workspace via a link.
Sharing with individual user(s).
Enter the email address(es) in the text field.
Currently, users can only ‘view’ which allows them to view and copy queries and files.
Click ‘Grant permission’.
Sharing with anyone in the workspace via a link.
From the dropdown, select ‘Anyone at [company] with the link.’
Currently, users can only ‘view’ which allows them to view and copy queries and files.
Click ‘Copy link’ and share the link in any form you prefer.
Removing Access
You can revoke access at anytime by navigating back to the query and clicking on ‘Share’ in the top right corner. Open the dropdown menu next to the user or link you want to revoke and select ‘Remove.’
Viewing Shared Threads
With shared access, users can view all queries, responses, and uploaded files. However, they cannot add follow-ups, make changes, or share the thread.
Users can find threads shared with them in the Shared with you section at the bottom of the Assistant page.
FAQ
Q: What happens if the workspace Admin disables sharing?
If an admin disables sharing, all previously shared items will be set to private. Even if sharing is later re-enabled, the items will remain private and must be manually shared again.
Q: How do admins control sharing?
Admins play a key role in enabling sharing features. Sharing options must be enabled by admins at the workspace level for the feature to appear in the user experience. Admins can also fine-tune sharing permissions, such as disabling sharing via link while still allowing users to share with specific individuals.
Q: Will users be notified when a thread is shared with them?
At this time, users do not receive automatic notifications when an item is shared with them. To view shared items, users can navigate to the “Shared with you” tab in Assistant.
Q: Will threads shared with ‘anyone in the workspace via a link’ automatically appear for everyone in the workspace?
No, threads shared via link will only appear for users who open the link. Once a user clicks the link, the item will then show up in their “Shared with you” tab.
