Out now: Experience and quality improvements to Assistant and Vault as well as our new Microsoft Word Add-In.

As always, if you have any product feedback or would like early access to any new features, we’d love to hear from you.

Smarter Assistant Prompts, Better Conversations

Changes to Assistant make it more intuitive to write prompts and have more strategic conversations.

Why it matters: Reducing friction in using Assistant helps you get insights faster.

Here’s what’s new:

  • You can now upload documents mid-thread to shape the conversation with relevant content.

  • You can reuse documents and queries when creating a new conversation to avoid additional processing time.

  • Draft mode now has a save/load prompt and copy query capabilities, allowing you to leverage strong prompts in future projects.

You can now refer to documents using their file names or document order in queries, meaning you can now ask more natural questions such as “what are the key terms in lease agreement 2?”

Harvey & Microsoft Word

Harvey’s Microsoft Word add-in is now available on the Microsoft app store and available for firm testing.

Why it matters: You can now edit existing contracts and documents where you already work, in Word.

Coming Soon: In Q4, we’ll be adding more functionality to what you can do with Harvey inside of Microsoft Word.

  • Integration with Vault — You’ll be able to find and edit documents using precedent banks, offering a more streamlined editing and drafting process.

  • Drafting within Word — You’ll be able to use Harvey to add new clauses, fill out templates and draft contracts section by section.

  • Full-Document Edits — You’ll be able to apply formatting and find-and-replace changes across your entire document with Harvey.

Assistant & Vault Performance Improvements

Harvey Assistant & Vault are now faster, support more file types and offer higher quality citations.

Further review: Across both Assistant and Vault, we’ve made changes to make Harvey even more powerful—allowing you to get what you need faster so you can spend more time building the right strategy or deepening your client relationships.

  • Noticeable Speed Improvements in Vault — Uploading and processing files is now 50% faster and queries complete 100% faster than before.

  • Reorder Columns in Vault — Now you can ensure the most important content is where you want it after Vault finishes analyzing your documents.

  • Auto-Classification in Vault— After uploading and running a query, Vault now identifies the document type, allowing for better file organization.

  • Seven New File Types — Both Assistant and Vault support .xlsx, .xls, .eml, .csv, .msg, .txt and .pptx files, allowing you to analyze more documents with Harvey.

  • Better Citations — Assistant citations are more relevant and higher quality, especially for tables and multi-document searches. They’re also more reliable—we’ve fixed a bug that caused highlighting to appear in the wrong place.

  • Updates to API — Harvey’s History and Audit APIs are updated and work seamlessly with Assistant. Go deeper.

BigLaw Bench Evaluation Dataset

We introduced a new dataset to quantitatively measure the performance of LLM systems on real-world legal tasks, modeled after billable tasks performed by lawyers in BigLaw.

Harvey’s models outperform leading foundation models on domain-specific tasks, producing 74% of a final, expert lawyer-quality work product – the outputs are more detailed, capture more nuance, and are much closer to final lawyer quality.

Coming in Q4: Sharing

In Q4, you will be able to share Assistant responses and Vault projects across your team.

  • You can share projects and queries with a specific team member, across your entire team or with other stakeholders via a link.

  • Admins can turn sharing on or off depending on their internal policies.

Coming in Q4: Query Vault Files within Assistant

If you’re looking for high-level or in the weeds details from your documents stored in Vault, you can now get those answers directly inside Assistant on Assist mode.

Why it matters: No more switching back and forth between products—use Assist mode for any synthesis or analysis questions and use Vault to get specific questions answered in grid format across every document in a set.

Coming in Q4: Deeper Admin Analytics

Over the next few weeks, we’ll revamp our usage dashboard with more graphs, filters and speed improvements so you can gain a better understanding of how your team is using Harvey.

Other key developments: We’re adding support for Arabic, Indonesian and Japanese translation.

Thank you for being a valued customer and for your continued trust in Harvey.

We look forward to delivering more improvements to meet your needs. If you have any questions or would like more information on the new features, don’t hesitate to reach out to your account team.
