Assistant Update
We’re making updates to Assist mode to improve usability and mirror the Assistant workflows UI, which provide more transparency and support agentic interactions.
These changes will become generally available on April 17. We will be kicking off an early access period for this updated agentic UI on April 3. Please contact your Harvey account team if you are interested in early access.
Here’s what’s changing:
New Assist mode thread UI: The Assist mode UI will be updated to match the Assistant Workflows UI. This applies to queries with or without files, queries over Vault projects, and queries over other knowledge sources.
A more chat-style UI with avatar bubbles next to user-submitted queries and Harvey-generated responses
An updated followup query prompt box that will remain pinned to the bottom of a thread, and will also have a smoother mid-thread file upload and file viewing experience
A slightly more centered layout
No changes to Draft mode’s UI
Nested thinking states: Responses to Assist mode queries now include a visible reasoning chain, providing transparency into how Harvey is thinking and producing responses. Thinking states will appear in Assist mode responses, including in followups. Thinking states for queries involving knowledge sources will roll out later this year.
Sticky followups: Suggested followup questions will persist in the thread, so users can revisit them at any time.
No changes to AI models: Quality, security, and model behavior remain the same.
