New Provider for Web Search and Knowledge Sources
Opt-in to use Parallel for enhanced outputs when using web-based Knowledge Sources and Web Search.
Note: Enabling Parallel is optional, Harvey admins must enable it in Settings > Knowledge for use by their workspace users.
What’s New
Starting February 4, 2026, Harvey will be transitioning to Parallel as the preferred provider of Web Search functionality and web-based Knowledge Sources for customers who opt in.
Why It Matters
This update advances the breadth and functionality of knowledge Harvey offers. Adding Parallel for Web Search and web-based knowledge sources enables:
- Stronger search: Use a more robust and reliable search index for the needs of legal AI use cases
- Ranked sources: Receive Harvey's ranking and prioritization of sources based on your research objective
- Clearer and more transparent citations: Improved retrieval of exact source text snippets, referenced in responses
- More control: Restrict Web Search queries to reference only URLs specified in the prompt
How to Use
Steps to Opt-in
- Workspace admins can review Parallel as an option to enable by going to Settings > Knowledge.
- At the top of the Knowledge Settings page, a banner will show with the option to use Parallel.
- Click Use Parallel to review details.
- Click Enable to opt-in.

Notes and Limitations
- If preferred, Customers who have previously enabled Web Search will continue to be able to power their web search experiences via You.com.
- You.com and Parallel process customer data on servers located in the United States only.
