Overview
Harvey’s Google Drive Integration lets you upload files directly from your Google Drive into Harvey—no manual downloads required. By connecting Harvey with Google Drive, you can quickly add Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, and other supported file types without leaving the platform, enhancing productivity across teams.
The integration uses Google’s secure OAuth flow for secure and authorized access, protecting data privacy and ensuring compliance. Workspace admins retain control, with options to disable the integration or revoke user access tokens as needed via the Harvey App Settings.
Enabling Google Drive Integration
Note: Workspace Admins must first enable the Google Drive integration at the workspace level, before a user can enable it in their individual account.
Each user must individually authenticate Google Drive to grant the necessary permissions to Harvey for upload functionality. There are two ways to set this up:
From Assistant, Workflows, or Vault
Click "Upload from Google Drive" in Assistant, Workflows, or Vault
Here, you’ll be prompted to log in through an authentication flow.
Grant Harvey permission to access your Google Drive files securely on your behalf.
Once authenticated, you’re ready to select files. Use the Google Drive option to browse and select files directly within the Harvey platform.
Upload your selected files to continue your workflow.
From Your Settings Page
Go to Settings in the Harvey app.
Select the Integrations tab.
Find the Google Drive card and toggle the integration on.
Select 'Connect' and authenticate your account.
Once connected, you can access the Google Drive file picker directly without needing to reauthenticate in future sessions.
Disabling Google Drive Integration
Note: Disconnecting your Google Drive account removes Harvey’s access to your files. However, any documents you’ve already uploaded into Harvey remain stored according to your workspace’s data retention policies.
If you need to reset or remove your Google Drive connection:
Go to Settings in the Harvey app.
Open the Integrations tab.
Find the Google Drive card and click the toggle to grey.
Select 'Disable' to disconnect your account.
FAQ
Q: Which file types are supported?
You can upload Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides (converted to docx, xlsx, pptx), along with PDFs and standard Office file types.
Q: Can I connect my personal Gmail account to Harvey?
No. For security purposes, you must use your corporate email address—the same one associated with your Harvey account. This prevents unauthorized access to personal files.
Q: What if I don’t see the “Upload from Google Drive” option?
Ensure your admin has enabled the integration in Settings > Integrations. If it’s enabled but still not visible, please contact your admin.
Q: Does Harvey enforce my Google Drive sharing settings?
In this upload-only release, once a file is uploaded, it follows Harvey’s file-sharing rules. Future updates will introduce more robust permission enforcement for real-time sync or mirroring.
Q: I’m having trouble authenticating my Google account. What should I do?
First, double-check you’re logging in with the same email addressed used for Harvey. Next, disconnect and reconnect the Google Drive integration via Settings > Integrations.
