Vault Email Notifications

Configure and use email notifications in Harvey to stay informed about vault retention deadlines, sharing activity, and review table assignments.

Overview

Vault Email Notifications help you stay ahead of important actions and changes across your organization. Admins can enable notifications that alert users when vaults are nearing deletion, when content is shared, and when review tasks are assigned.

With Vault Email Notifications, you can:

  • Prevent unexpected data loss from vault retention deadlines
  • Stay informed when vaults are shared with you or your collaborators
  • Keep review workflows moving with assignment alerts

Prerequisites:

  • Admin access to configure notification settings
  • Email notifications enabled at the organization level

How to Use

Step 1: Enable Notifications (Admin Only)

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to Notifications
  3. Enable the desired notification types:
    • Vault retention notifications
    • Sharing notifications
    • Review row assignment notifications

Notifications are disabled by default and must be turned on before users receive emails.

Step 2: Trigger Notification Events

Once enabled, notifications are automatically sent when the following occur:

  • A vault approaches its retention deadline
    • 1st email 7 days before deletion
    • 2nd email 1 day before deletion
  • A vault is shared with a user
  • A user is assigned rows in a review table

No additional user action is required.

Step 3: Receive and Act on Notifications

  1. Check your email inbox for notifications from Harvey
  2. Review the notification type (retention, sharing, or assignment)
  3. Take action in Harvey as needed (for example, review a vault or complete assigned rows)
