Overview
Suggestions in Assistant Threads help you identify and launch relevant workflows directly from your conversation. When your task aligns with an existing workflow, Harvey surfaces a suggested workflow in context so you don’t have to search for it.
With Suggestions in Assistant Threads, you can:
- Discover relevant workflows without leaving Assistant
- Navigate directly to recommended workflows
- See nudges for file uploads and deep analysis when appropriate
- Reduce repetitive manual prompting for recurring tasks
This feature makes it easier to transition from one-off prompts to structured workflows, helping your organization increase speed, consistency, and output quality over time.

Key Concepts

Assistant Threads | Conversations where you prompt Harvey to complete a task, ask a question, or generate content. |
Workflow Suggestions | Clickable recommendations that appear in an Assistant thread when your request resembles an existing workflow available to you. |

How to Use
Suggestions appear automatically, no setup required.
- Start in an Assistant thread.
Enter your prompt and generate a response as you normally would. - Review the suggested options.
After Harvey generates an output, you may see one or more clickable suggestions below the response. These can include:- A recommended workflow
- A prompt to upload files
- A deep analysis option
- Click the suggested workflow (if applicable).
Selecting a workflow suggestion navigates you directly to that workflow, where you can run the structured process. - Complete the workflow.
Follow the workflow steps to generate a more standardized or repeatable output.
Current Capabilities
Suggestions in Assistant Threads operate under the following constraints:
- Suggestions appear only after an Assistant response is generated.
- Workflow suggestions surface only when your request closely mirrors an existing workflow.
- You will only see workflows that you have permission to access.
- Suggestions are contextual; not every prompt will trigger a workflow recommendation.
- Suggestions guide you to a workflow but do not automatically run it.
Tips for Success
- Use Assistant naturally. You do not need to structure your prompt differently to trigger suggestions.
- Look for repeatable work. If you find yourself prompting Assistant for similar outputs multiple times, a suggested workflow can standardize the process.
- Leverage workflows for firm- or organization-specific formatting. Workflows are particularly valuable for tasks that require structured templates, consistent language, or internal guidelines.
- Use deep analysis when complexity increases. If your task requires more rigorous reasoning or multi-step evaluation, the deep analysis suggestion can improve output quality.
Over time, incorporating workflows into your day-to-day work reduces rework and improves consistency across your organization.
