Harvey for Word: How to Download and Install
Instructions for users to download and install the Word add-in.

Before you begin:
- Depending on your Microsoft Admin Center settings, you may need permission from your Microsoft Administrator to install the add-in.
- All users must have a Harvey account to access and use the add-in.
- Harvey for Word is only available on the Microsoft Word desktop application and not compatible with Word for the web.
IT Administrators: Enabling Harvey for Word
Deploying Harvey for Word in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
IT administrators can deploy the add-in across the organization by:
- Enabling it at the tenant level, or
- Using Centralized Deployment (recommended).
Alternative deployments (less common)
Sideloading the Harvey for Word (Windows only)

Enabling Harvey for Word in Your Workspace
You can enable or disable Harvey for Word, as well as manage role and user access, from the Ecosystem settings page.
- Go to Settings → Ecosystem.
- Find the listing for Harvey for Word and enable or disable it using the toggle switch.
- Manage permissions for specific roles and users by selecting Grant access.

Note: If a new version of an add-in changes the ribbon (for example, adds a custom tab or button), users must reinstall the add-in.
For Windows Users: How to Download and Install Harvey for Word
When downloading the Word Add-In there are three Add-Ins to choose from depending on the URL of your workspace.
- If you access Harvey via app.harvey.ai, install the US version of the add-in.

- If you access Harvey via eu.app.harvey.ai, install the EU version of the add-in.

- If you access Harvey via au.app.harvey.ai, install the AU version of the add-in.

Desktop App
To add Harvey to your Microsoft Word 365 desktop app:
- Mac: Go to the Home tab and click Add-Ins on the ribbon. Windows: Go to the File tab and click Get Add-Ins.
- In the search bar, type Harvey.
- Click Add to install the appropriate Harvey for Word Add-In based on your Harvey instance (US or EU).

- After installing, click the Harvey for Word icon in an open document.

- Click Get started on the right side of the screen.
- A new window will appear, prompting you to log in with your Harvey account. Once logged in and authorized, the sidebar will load the Harvey for Word interface.
