Connecting Your DMS: Google Drive and SharePoint/OneDrive

Connect Google Drive or SharePoint/OneDrive to Harvey for seamless document upload, analysis, and review—no downloads needed.

Last updated: Aug 29, 2025

Harvey integrates directly with Google Drive and SharePoint/OneDrive, allowing you to upload and work with documents seamlessly—no downloads required. These integrations help you stay focused, move faster, and collaborate with confidence.

Before getting started, your Workspace Admin must enable the integration at the workspace level.

Once enabled, each user must authenticate their account to connect their document storage.

Connecting from Harvey

You can connect either integration from multiple entry points in Harvey:

  • Assistant
  • Workflows
  • Vault

Steps

  1. Click Upload from Google Drive or Upload from SharePoint/OneDrive.
  2. Authenticate your account using the secure OAuth flow.
  3. Grant Harvey access to your files.
  4. Select the files you want to upload.
  5. Your files will appear instantly—ready for analysis, drafting, or review.

Connecting via Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings in the lower-left corner of Harvey.
  2. Select the Integrations tab.
  3. Find either the Google Drive or SharePoint card.
  4. Click Connect and follow the authentication steps.

Once connected, you can access your document picker any time—no need to reauthenticate per session.

SharePoint One-Way Sync

Note: For access, reach out to your Harvey workspace admin.

Harvey supports automated daily syncing of documents from a selected SharePoint folder into a knowledge base (excluding Vault projects). This feature is intended to streamline content management across large teams.

How to Set It Up

  1. Create or open a knowledge base in Harvey.
  2. Choose Sync SharePoint folder as your file source.
  3. Select the folder from your SharePoint account.
  4. Set your preferred sync time (default is 12:00 AM).
  5. Harvey will mirror the contents of that folder daily. You or any user with access to the knowledge base can also trigger a manual sync or pause it at any time.

Important Notes:

  • Authentication Required: Admins must first disconnect and re-authenticate their SharePoint connection before users can start using.
  • File Limit: Avoid syncing more than 10,000 files per tenant to prevent hitting SharePoint rate limits.
    • If you experience issues (e.g., file picker doesn’t load), try pausing your syncing knowledge bases for ~5 minutes.
  • Access: Only users with the ability to create Knowledge Base can set up the sync but any user with the ability to view Knowledge Bases can access synced content once it has been shared with them by the owner of the knowledge base.

Disabling or Resetting the Integration

To remove access or reset the integration:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Toggle off the Google Drive or SharePoint integration.
  3. Click Disable or Disconnect to confirm.

Note: Disabling removes access going forward, but files already uploaded into Harvey remain available per your workspace’s retention settings.
