What's New

Harvey now reads and understands comment bubbles within Word documents. When you upload a Word file that includes comments, Harvey automatically processes them and incorporates their content into its understanding of the document.

Why it Matters

Queries that reference comments in Word documents can now produce more accurate responses as they are processed and grounded in the context of the document.

How to Use

The steps below are housed in our FAQ section of Getting Started with Assistant and copied below for quick reference.

  1. Upload a word document with comments in Assistant, then ask Harvey any question about the uploaded file, including questions about the comments.
  2. Harvey’s response will cite comments within the document and reflect a summary of the comments as a footnote at the bottom of the document.

Notes and Limitations

  • Harvey can understand the content and context of comments but cannot yet link to their exact location in the document. In other words, citations may reference comments from the document, but they won’t always point to the precise position of the comment. This improvement will be part of future development.
  • Emojis are not supported. If a comment contains emojis it will not show up in the document preview.
  • Comments are only supported in Word documents (.docx) at this time, other file types are not supported.
