Release Notes
Improved Output Localization
Harvey can produce outputs better aligned with your jurisdiction and preferred language.
What's New
We've made improvements to how Harvey leverages information from your profile — such as your profession, specialization, and work location — to fine-tune how it drafts.
Why it Matters
You’ll see outputs that are:
- More aligned with your jurisdiction’s drafting conventions
- Better calibrated to local legal practice
- Consistently use the spelling and grammar of your preferred language
How to Use
Harvey automatically applies your profile information when generating responses. To make sure this works correctly:
- Go to Settings → Profile and confirm your profession, specialization, location, and preferred language.
- Run your queries as usual — Harvey will tailor the tone, terminology, and spelling to match your profile.
- You can override these preferences at any time by asking Harvey to respond in a different language, tone, or dialect.
Read more about setting up your user profile and supported languages in How to Set Up Your User Profile.
Notes and Limitations
- Only one preferred language can be set per user profile.
- If no language or dialect is specified, Harvey defaults to the language of your query or the one you request.
- Localization applies at the individual level within a workspace.
FAQs
Q: Where does Harvey get my location or preferences?
From the profile information you provide in your settings.
Q: What if I haven’t set a preferred language or dialect?
Harvey will default to the language of your query or the one you explicitly request (e.g., “Please respond in French”).
Q: Can I change or override my preferences?
Yes. You can ask Harvey to draft in a different language, tone, or dialect at any time.
Q: Does this affect how Harvey interprets legal terminology?
Yes. Harvey now interprets your queries with awareness of your practice area and jurisdiction, leading to more contextually relevant results.
