Harvey for Microsoft
We’re excited to introduce full-document editing in Harvey’s Word Add-In, making it even easier to collaborate with Harvey while working in Microsoft Word.
With this update, you can:
- Edit entire documents directly in Word—no more 5,000-character limits
- Ask questions about the content of your document or selected sections
- Upload precedent documents from Vault to guide your edits
- Choose how to apply changes: accept suggestions one-by-one or all at once
Whether you're revising an NDA, reviewing redlines, or updating a document based on client feedback, you can now do it all without leaving Word.
We’re still expanding the feature set, and here’s what to keep in mind:
- Tables: Editing or inserting tables is not yet supported (coming in Q4)
- Footnotes: Automated footnote insertion is not yet available (coming in Q4)
- Translation: Use the Translation Workflow in-app for full document translations with formatting
- Mac users: Expect higher latency in the desktop app; we recommend using Microsoft Word Online for the best experience
Tips:
- Start with Ask mode: Use Ask to understand the document or get suggested edits.
- Move to Edit mode: Once you're ready to make changes, toggle “Make document-wide edits” and switch to Edit.
Performance expectations:
- Most edits generate in 6–90 seconds
- Very large edits (300+ changes) may take up to 3–5 minutes
This update makes Word a fully capable environment for working with Harvey—no back-and-forth, no extra steps, just smarter editing where you’re already working.
