What’s New

You can now convert vaults into knowledge bases directly from the Vault page.

  • One-click conversion from vault to knowledge base
  • All files and client matter are preserved
  • Individual and user group access carries over automatically
  • Workspace-level sharing resets to Restricted after conversion

Why It Matters

This update makes lets you more efficiently create knowledge bases from thousands of files in vaults without manually downloading and re-uploading files.

How to Use

  1. Go to Vault from the main sidebar menu.
  2. Open the three-dot menu on the vault you want to convert and click Convert to knowledge base.

  3. Review the confirmation pop-up, then click Convert.

  4. After conversion, knowledge base access defaults to Restricted for the workspace.

FAQs

Q: What happens to sharing status after conversion?

  • Individual and user group access is preserved.
  • Workspace-level sharing resets to Restricted; if the vault was shared with the entire workspace, you’ll need to re-share the knowledge base.

Q: When I convert a vault to a knowledge base, will the client matter be preserved?

Yes, the client matter associated with the vault is preserved.

Q: What happens to queries when I convert a vault to a knowledge base?

Queries (threads and reviews) created in the vault are detached during conversion and moved to each user’s private history. They are no longer shared with other users who previously had access.
